FIGURINES #6: ANDY AND RACHEL       Markers on Paper, 16 x 8"

Andy and Rachel was a response to my brother Andy's seemingly throw away request that his Christmas present that year be a "random sketch." This did indeed become his and Rachel's present; but it also interested me in returning to the isolated figure drawings of the "Figurines" series from many years earlier.  The markers were allowing me to work much more quickly and the prospect of being able to assemble a large number of these in aggregate was very interesting to me.  These drawings had always been about the negative space and what is not shown.  But they are just as much about the way that the individual "Figurines" of different drawings interact with one another
